For more than forty-six years (1963-2010), Mother Ruth C. Pryor served as the loving wife of the late Bishop Marvin C. Pryor, Pastor of Victorious Believers Ministries (VBM) Church of God in Christ and Prelate of The Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Southwest Michigan COGIC. Her fondest moments were 46½ years of marital bliss to the love of her life. This blessed union was ordained of God. They raised four children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Their youngest son, Elder Chris was appointed by the Presiding Bishop C.E. Blake to succeed his father as pastor. They have four grandchildren. She is most grateful that her offspring are saved and serving in the ministry at VBM, the state and/or national church.
Bishop & Mrs. Pryor served at VBM for over twenty-six (26) years as an exemplary team in ministry, impacting the lives of thousands of people at home, nationally and abroad. Bishop Pryor was a General in God’s army, highly respected and esteemed visionary leader who was called home suddenly to be with the Lord on February 22, 2010. Within her local assembly, she serves as the Director of the Women of Victory Department. Her goal is to empower Godly women to maximize their potential at home, church, work and the community.
Mrs. Pryor’s effervescent spirit is contagious. Her genuine love for people is evident where ever her feet trod. As a graduate of The University of Michigan and former Educator in the Flint (MI) Public School System, she continues to share her love for children and people from all walks of life. Today, she serves as the President of the Bishop Marvin C. Pryor Memorial Fund, a charity that reaches out to serve those in need in support of Education, Missions and other Humanitarian Needs dear to the late Bishop’s heart. She loves being a grandmother, traveling, and watching Monday night football. Above all, Mrs. Pryor is committed to living the gospel and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to a hurting world!
